The H.323 Core Toolkit supports third-parties in developing a broad range of interoperable network communications products. Fully committed to interoperability among multimedia products and applications, Intel and DataBeam Corporation have formed a strategic alliance to facilitate deployment of real-time voice, video, and data communications on both corporate networks and the Internet. Intel's leadership role in developing the H.323 standard and ProShare® technology complements DataBeams's leadership position in delivering T.120 data conferencing building blocks to software developers and original equipment manufacturers. As a result, third-parties can create products that allow end users to communicate over corporate networks and the Internet--without concern for hardware compatibility.

The H.323 Development Toolkit

The H.323 Core Toolkit is DataBeam's flagship H.323 product. This portable toolkit delivers H.323 Call Control functionality and a complete implementation of the RTP/RTCP streams engine. With the H.323 Core Toolkit, a developer can build client applications, MCUs, and gateways. The toolkit is available in source or object code form, and contains a Call Control module, a Streams Module, code exercisers, and sample applications.

Valuable add-ons are available in DataBeam's H.323 Value Pack. Value Pack includes easy-to-use API abstractions, over the H.323 stack, to flexible architectures for embedding and linking codecs with the H.323 Core Toolkit. Components are optimized for Win32 environments, but are sold in both source and object form and can be ported to other platforms. Modules include Session Manager, Media Services Manager, Audio and Video MSPs, and Streams Manager.

DataBeam also offers an optional licensing arrangement for the G.723 and H.263 multimedia codecs. Licensed in object form, the codecs were developed by Intel and are optimized for Pentium® processors with MMX™ technology.

Superior support is the hallmark of DataBeam's customer support program. On purchase of a DataBeam toolkit, each developer is assigned a single support representative who provides assistance in the areas of product design consulting and problem solving, and acts as an interface to the DataBeam development organization.
